On Aug 29th, 2021 our team distributed smile kits to the Chinthalamoore village kids.
We notice that the siblings of the other kids are also attending classes and following their footsteps.
Education does have a positive impact. Children through their education are becoming aware of the hygiene and class ethics
As part of the monthly smile distribution, team Abhayahastha reached out to Tekulakunta and Uttaram villages by walking 4 kms and distributed smile kits to them on 4th July, 2021.
Despite the challenges faced by the lockdown, heavy rains and transportation, our team was able to reach the 4 Gothey Koya villages (Urratam, Chinthalamoore, Rayabhandam and Tekulakunta) on 4th June,2021 and distributed SMILE KITS . The kits contain basic essential supplies like rice, pulses, oil, chilli powder, turmeric powder, 4 varieties of vegetables (sufficient for 15 days). Safety is our main priority and our team decided to distribute 100 masks especially for the kids . Few other essentials like clothes, sanitary napkins for women, body soaps, detergent soaps, tooth pastes, toys, bounvita, milk powder, were given for around 70 families.
It wasn't easy for our team to reach the villages this time due to the circumstances but there was only one motive which drove us to make this possible is standing by the people and helping them.
Thanks to all donors with whose help our team was able to distribute 400 kgs of rice, 80 kgs of pulses, 45 kgs of oil , 30 kgs of chilli powder, 30 kgs of turmeric. These kits are the only source of survival for the people living in those villages during lockdown.

Keeping in view the weather conditions and to provide the basic infrastructure to all the 4 learning centers i.e. Urratam, Chinthalamoore, Rayabhandam and Tekulakunta, our team had distributed 18 benches, 4 white boards, 4 water purifiers, 4 protective roof top covers and chairs.
Big shout out to the management of New loyola High School for their generous support in donating 18 benches or our learning centers.
Moving forward, our team didn't want to limit our resources to just 2 villages. In this process, we were able to reach out to another village named Rayabhandam , Eturnagaram mandal and distributed few essentials on 27th march,2021.
"Education has a beginning but no end “
A volunteer from Uttaram village who's studying at Delhi University is helping these little kids get their basic education. We hope these little kids fly high with bright colors.

Our team had the opportunity to visit and extend our support to another tribe which was completely remote and unconnected to the society. The RAMPUR GOTHEY KOYA tribal people live in the hilly area of a deep forest, from Pasra (Mandal) towards Lingala Village which is 12 kms by road and 5 kms by walk into forest . It wasn't easy for our team to reach this place .They had to walk 5 kms carrying SMILE KITS, essential supplies, basic clothing to kids, women and men, hygiene supplies, toys, activity books, stationary supplies and sipper water bottles. We thank each and everyone for being a ray of light in the lives of the tribals.

We need your support to continue the distribution in the upcoming months and also to spread our reach to other tribal villages.
A donation will provide a child with a SMILE Kit containing groceries/items that will support a child’s nutrition, immunity, and education.
Each SMILE kit contains basic essentials like 5kg rice,1kg Toor Dal,1kg Moog Dal, 1 litre Oil,t umeric, chilli powder, tooth paste, body soaps, washing detergent , sanitary napkins, water bottle sippers.
Nutritious suppliments like milk powder, Bournvita, biscuits and clothing to women, men and kids ,sweaters, blankets. Educational supplies like books, stationary and puzzle games.
The team recently had an opportunity to visit the village of Chinthala Moore in Mulugu district of Telangana. There we spoke to the people of Gothey koya tribe and listened to their hardships in making ends meet. It was heartbreaking to learn that people there lacked the most basic necessities such as clean drinking water, electricity and educational supplies. With a sense of duty, the Abhayahastha team began to help them, by providing amenities such as candles, soaps, mosquito repellents, cooking oils and sanitary pads. We also provided the kids with stationery items such as crayons, slates, and books. We are ramping up the efforts in addressing their drinking water problems (by equipping them with a borewell) and providing access to basic educational tools. We humbly solicit your help in accomplishing these humanitarian goals.
